Helen Slottje is the winner of the Goldman Environmental Prize in 2014, Helen is a commercial attorney turned rural lawyer, who developed an innovative and successful legal framework, enabling over 170 towns and rural communities to pass local laws prohibiting fracking. This campaign has now moved beyond New York State and communities the US are taking action to regulate fracking based on Helen’s legal framework.
